Wieliczka Salt Mine


Wieliczka Chapel. St. Kinga

The Wieliczka Salt Mine is a wonderful monument of technology with the Middle Ages.
Approximately one million tourists annually visits approx. 3 km route consisting of 20 chambers, located at depths of 64 to 135 meters. On the way to overcome approx. 800 stairs.
Part of the route is suitable for wheelchairs. Visiting time is approx. 2-3 hours.
In the mine are presented works of sacred art made of salt.  The world's  singularity is a chapel of St. Kingii. Chapel of all equipment is made of salt - from the floor after the chandeliers.
Mine in Wieliczka was entered for the first UNESCO Heritage List in 1978.
